"The things that women often reclaim are often their own voice, their own values, their imagination, their clairovoyance, their stories, their ancient memories."  - CLARISSA PINKOLA ESTES

"In her heart she is a mourner for those who have not survived. In her soul she is a warrior for those who are now as she was then. In her life she is both celebrant and proof of women's capacity and will to survive, to become, to act, to change self and society. And each year she is stronger and there are more of her." -Andrea Dworkin

SERVICES

I specialize in women’s health, embodied healing and mental health. I am body-mind centered, strength based, & practice from an integrative, holistic perspective. I provide personalized, whole person care, and tailored treatment plans which are collaboratively created based on my client’s voice, lived experiences, expressed needs, and goals. I am passionate about empowering and allying with women to reclaim and to learn to trust their bodies wisdom and healing trauma at the nervous system level. I create a safe, compassionate, exploratory space, where active listening and genuine curiosity supports authentic connection and rapport with my clients.

No two people are the same. That’s why my training and approach is highly eclectic and personalized to meet the needs of my clients. There are many approaches to psychotherapy. I have avidly studied numerous modalities and maintain several specializations and certifications. What the research has shown, is that traditional talk therapies (Top-down/Cognitive Processes) are limited, and we must incorporate the body (Bottom-up/Body Based) for lasting change, healing, reprocessing, repatterning, and resolution. I tend to integrate top-down (cognitive) and bottom-up (body based) approaches, and I integrate many therapeutic techniques into my work because there is no ‘one-size-fits-all.’ Together we will collaborate and come up with a treatment plan to address your areas of concern. I am passionate about empowering women not only to explore "what's wrong," but to reclaim their voices, their imaginations, their sense of self, healthy boundaries, and to develop nourishing practices that align with their values and belief systems as opposed to the belief systems of others.

PSYCHOTHERAPY

Feeling tired, overwhelmed, anxious, sad, the world as we know it is moving at such a fast pace. We are not meant to live in survivavl mode. I believe everyone has a bit of healing to do. I utilize compassionate inquiry to help you explore & identify adverse events during your life course which may be impacting your nervous system and the ways in which you relate to yourself, others, and the world around you. Psychotherapy can help create meaning, increase awareness, replace old beliefs, narratives that no longer serve you, create new narratives, assist in developing new coping and regulation skills, along with strategies to discharge stress from the body. Cultivating a sense of safety, belonging, curiosity, imagination, interest, engagement, life purpose, future orientations, and self compassion are touchstones to my practice.

THE EXPRESSIVE ARTS, SOMATIC APPROACHES & OTHER EXPERENTIAL APPROACHES

Tap into your body's wisdom. Our bodies do not just tell stories, they tell histories. Memories, trauma, incomplete stress cycles can be trapped in the body. We often times do not have language for it, we often times may not remember. Research has shown that without interventions that incorporate body based approaches, such as somatic movement, the expressive arts or other experential practices that incorporate our senses, many therapeutic interventions are limited. We cannot think our way out of a "trigger," a stress response. Bottom-up approaches are body based interventions such as utilizing the expressive arts, somatic experiencing, yoga, breathwork, and other embodied, experiential practices that can facilitate deeper healing, reprocessing, somatic stress release, create room for exploration, befriending your body and nervous system, provide a plethora of tools, and enhance quality of life.

TESTIMONIALS

"I never thought I would be where I am now. I was in such a dark hole when we first started. Everything felt so overwhelming, so utterly devestating. In our work together, I felt seen, heard, challenged while also uniquely empowered. I am so grateful. All of these tools, growing awareness, I am in awe of the changes I have made, the hope I feel, what comes next." C

"I've had lots of therapists. You have a powerful model, throwing seeds. My mental health and physical health are closely tied. I was able to put effort towards that, definitely hit milestones. One of the big things, was when you prepped me for a trip. Life changing. Be intentional, notice things, mostly been able to to control my thoughts better, just the awareness that I can change my state. Catching, noticing then releasing, it's been pretty cool, the growing awareness. I'm seeing that I can make changes really quickly and not get caught in the loop." M

"It's amazing to think back, I felt so lost, good to reflect on where I was and see how far I've come, so when I feel hopeless or down again, to remember it's not always going to be this way. I am so grateful, it was huge, lots of change, transformation. Therapy has helped a lot, continued sessions over time has helped me feel more comfortable, helped me overall be more comfortable in my own skin, and it has helped me create a life that is more aligned with what I want. Thank you so much for everything." S

MY STORY

Screenshot_20230705_093300_Gallery_edite

I am eclectic, creative, person-centered, solution-focused, strength-based, and a dedicated clinician, passionate about my work, women's health, and healing.

My journey informs my approach and the two cannot be separated. I am and have been many women. I have started over again and again. I have reimagined my life, and have intricately weaved rich tapestries. I am a single mother, survivor of childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence. I have direct experiences with auto-immune and chronic pain & health conditions for over 25 years, and direct experiences with the pervasive and abusive contexts of systems and institutions, family law in particular and when they fail to protect.

In 2013, I experienced a high conflict divorce, deep loss, and grief. I barely made it. However, there were some angels that appeared on my pathway that never wavered, old friends, new friends, animals, advocates, and they helped me to keep going. They helped me to remember myself, who I really was. They helped me to HOPE.

My life experiences have allowed me to understand the varying nuances, complexities, individually and collectively, and the systems that maintain and perpetuate trauma and other physical and mental health related issues, especially as it may pertain to women's lived experiences. My experiences have gifted me the ability to meet my client's where they are, in an authentic, very human-connected manner. I see and feel with people. I have deep seated empathy, healthy boundaries, and I am very comfortable holding a vast container. I have so much more depth and understanding now because of some of the experiences noted above.

I am also resonant and deeply grateful for my bodies ancestral wisdom, adaptable brilliance, and ability over time to function and protect me in my 50 plus years on this earth. "She" is indeed a goddess, my/a super power.

Healing is a journey of creating meaning, the integration of past and current experiences and memories, whilst cultivating your dreams and aspirations. I am very eclectic in my approach. I often utilize humor, swearing (if not offended), and use collaboration and choice points as the basis of my therapeutic interactions. You are the expert in your experience and it is my honor and goal to support, co-create, and ally with you.

I am a Seed Planter & Hope Peddler. Even when things may feel overwhelming, dark, or challenging. I will help you remember your light, your ancestral wisdom.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Associate in the state of Washington (SC-60857294). Most individuals prefer to meet every week or every other week. The length of individual therapy, session time, varies greatly depending on your needs, desires and the nature of what brings you to therapy. I accept credit cards.  All fees are due on the date of service. I have a limited number of reduced cost sessions for people that are experiencing financial hardships.  I also offer a student rate for individuals attending college or graduate school. Out-of-Network
I am not currently accepting insurance.  Many of my clients are able to get partial compensation for sessions by using their out-of-network coverage.  I can provide a Super Bill (invoice) which contains all the information your insurance company will need to do this.  Please check with your insurance provider to see if you have out-of-network coverage and at what rate.  Also note that submission for reimbursement is done by the client.
